Writers and Journalists Association (WAJA)
The Writer and Journalists Association (WAJA) is a non-profit organization representing writers and journalists from India. The WAJA seeks to bridge between writers, journalists. It promotes the role of writers and journalists as key players in civil society and democracy. The WAJA’s goals are to improve the quality of journalism, promote standards and support writers and journalists worldwide.
Objectives:
The WAJA seeks to organize regular exchanges between its member associations and their individual members. It encourages the foundation of associations where there are none and networking opportunities for writers & journalists across the globe. The WAJA maintains a website to share information about advances and trends in journalism. Training and networking for writers & journalists, especially in the developing world, are key priorities.
History:
The Association is founded in 2009 by the eminent group of writers and journalists in Lucknow, to serve the sprit of Writers and Journalists across the globe on a single platform.
